Aquesta performance està dedicada a Dejan Nebrigić (1971-1999), pioner activista LGBT de l'antiga Iugoslàvia.

La segona part d'una trilogia que examina els conflictes i tensions existents entre els artistes i els tabús socials, Hermaphrodite of the Soul de Žak Valenta exposa els temes prevalents que envolten a l'homofòbia a la societat actual. En aquesta constel·lació dramatúrgica que consisteix en gèneres de diversos i mons emotius extrems, s’ afirma la relació entre la sexualitat, la violència i el poder, i es mostren les pràctiques discriminatòries per mitjà de les quals allò diferent és marginat, reprimit i rebutjat sistemàticament.

Aleksandra Mišić va ser guardonada amb el Premi de Teatre Croata per a la millor intèrpret de dansa de 2014 per la seva actuació a Hermaphrodite of the Soul.

Zak Brako Valenta és coreògraf independent, ballarí i educador escènic.

Nascut a Umag, Croàcia. Estudia dansa, mim i teatre físic. Acaba els estudis a la London School of Physical Theatre, i aprofundeix la seva educació amb el Programa de Mim a l’Amsterdam School for New Dance Development, a la Moving Academy for Performing Arts de Nova York, i a diversos tallers i seminaris al seu país i a la resta del món.

Un dels fundadors del Trafik teatre, és l'actor i coreògraf en aquest col·lectiu des de 1998.
Com a intèrpret, ha col·laborat amb el HNK Ivana pl. Zajc (Passengers revilers, Death Vronsky), Karina Holla Company (Hacking hole son of frozen soul), Griff theater (Metafoe), Postheatre (download site), Tala Dance Centre (Men in skirts), Exit Theatre (Adult, Desire, picture show), Dance Theatre Ljubljana (basso continuo), Companie de Opera Seca (Man nowhere) i Avanty Digital Displays entre d’altres.

Des de fa temps és associat del Croatian Institute for Movement and Dance, a més de ser l'impulsor de la setmana de dansa Suvermenog Dance en Rijeka.
És soci de la Comunitat Croata d'Artistes Independents, de les associacions d'artistes croats dramàtics i de dansa respectivament, i de la Federació Europea de Mim.
L'obra Imago, dirigida per Natasha Lušetić, va ser guanyadora del premi Vladimir Nazor per Art Escènic. El 2009 Com a part del Let the festival va ser guardonada per a la millor obra sense text per a nens My Body, produïda per Rijeka City Puppet Theatre, rebent el premi col·lectiu l'obra Walker, produïda pel Trafik theater Rijeka.

Ha estat nominat dues vegades pe a un Premio de Teatro Croata: com a millor intèrpret de dansa al 2010, i al 2014 per l'obra Hermaphrodites of the soul.

Al 2014 comença estudis a eurítmica a la coneguda escola Euyrithmeum Stuttgart.

Žak Brako Valenta es coreógrafo freelance, bailarín y educador escénico.

Nacido en Umag, Croacia. Estudia danza, mimo y teatro físico. Acaba los estudios en la London School of Physical Theatre, y profundiza su educación con el programa de Mimo en la Amsterdam School for New Dance Development, en la Moving Academy for Performing Arts de Nueva York, y en varios talleres y seminarios en su país y en el resto del mundo.

Uno de los fundadores del Trafik theater, es actor y coreógrafo en este colectivo desde 1998.

Desde hace tiempo es asociado del Croatian Institute for Movement and Dance, además de ser el impulsor de la semana de danza Suvermenog Dance en Rijeka. The performance is dedicated to Dejan Nebrigić (1971-1999), one of the LGBTQ pioneering activists in former Yugoslavia.

As the second part of a trilogy which speaks about the challenging conflicts and tensions between artists and social taboos, the performance Hermaphrodites of the Soul by Žak Valenta maps out the issues around homophobia in today’s society. Within the dramaturgical constellation comprising diverse genres and extreme emotional worlds, the relationship between sexuality, violence and power is explicity affirmed thus revealing the discriminatory practices within which the different is marginalised, repressed and systematically disapproved.

For her part in Hermaphrodites of the Soul, Aleksandra Mišić received a Croatian Theatre Award for the best female dance performance in 2014.

Žak Brako Valenta / freelance choreographer, dancer and theatre educator. Born in Umag, Croatia. He studied dance, mime and physical theatre. He graduated from the School of Physical Theatre in London, and completed courses at the Mime School at the Amsterdam School for New Dance Development and at the New York's Moving Academy for Performing Arts, as well as a variety of workshops and seminars at home and abroad.

He is a founder member of Trafik theater, for which he performs and choreographs since 1998.
As a performer, he has collaborated with HNK Ivana pl. Zajc (Passengers revilers, Death Vronsky), Karina Holla Company (Hacking hole son of frozen soul), Griff theater (Metafoe), Postheatre (download site), Tala Dance Centre (Men in skirts), Exit Theatre (Adult, Desire, picture show), Dance Theatre Ljubljana (basso continuo), Companie de Opera Seca (Man nowhere), Avanty digital displays and others.

A long-time associate of the Croatian Institute for Movement and Dance and the initiator of the organizer week Suvermenog Dance in Rijeka. He is a member of the Croatian community of independent artists, the Croatian Association of Dramatic Artists, Croatian Association of Dance Artists, and the European Federation of mime.

The play Imago directed by Natasha Lušetić was awarded the Vladimir Nazor prize for theatrical art. In "Let the festival" 2009, children's play My Body produced by Rijeka City Puppet Theatre was awarded the prize for best non-verbal play for children, while the play Walker produced by Trafik theater Rijeka won the Collective Award. Žak has been nominated twice for the Croatian Theatre Award: in 2010 for best male dancing role and in 2014 for the play Hermaphrodites of the soul.

In 2014 he commenced studies at the celebrated school of eurhythmics Euyrithmeum Stuttgart.
