‘Danza real ya’ (Real dance now) is a project on and about dance. Using 4 iconic choreographies from the history of dance and from the creator’s personal history, the show aims to re-embody them and re-dance them as a symbolic and historic gesture of admiration and recognition, but also as an exercise in humorous criticism of the world of dance and its referents.
A choreographic collage made up of different flagship solos registered in a single body performing part of the collective memory of dance, with the aim of expressing thoughts on paper, want, or the absurdity of contemporary dance at the present moment.
BIO
Pere Faura
After several years studying and working in Amsterdam as a choreographer, Pere Faura (Barcelona, 1980) returned to the city of his birth in 2011, seduced by the artistic wealth that he thought would result from social precariousness. His work is usually characterised by the appropriation of pop culture elements such as striptease, disco, musicals or porn, which he subsequently de-contextualises and remixes in a multidisciplinary choreography that brings together all theatrical elements.
